ABOUT US.

The African Union Counter Terrorism Centre (AUCTC) is a specialized institution of the African Union, established to strengthen the counter-terrorism and violent extremism response capacity of AU Member States.
Working in close collaboration with Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and Regional Mechanisms (RMs), the AUCTC provides technical, operational, and strategic support. The Centre develops tools and programs to prevent, analyze, and effectively respond to terrorist threats across the African continent.
AUCTC's core missions include:
Collecting and analyzing data on terrorism-related incidents in Africa;
Publishing regular reports such as the Africa Terrorism Bulletin (ATB) to inform policymakers and stakeholders;
Building the capacity of national and regional institutions through training, workshops, and logistical support;
Promoting continental and international cooperation to ensure a unified response to terrorism.
Dedicated to a safe and resilient Africa, the AUCTC serves as a hub of expertise and coordination in counter-terrorism efforts, while upholding human rights and the legal frameworks of the African Union.
