A high-level German delegation paid a courtesy call to the ACSRT

17 June 2019, Algiers, Algeria: On the margin of their visit to Algeria as co-chairs of GCTF Sahel Working Group, a high-level German delegation led by Miss Barbara VOSS, International Cooperation Against Terrorism, Federal Foreign Office, Berlin, paid a courtesy call to H.E Larry GBEVLO-LARTEY Esq, AU SRCTC/ ACSRT Director.

The ACSRT Director briefed the delegation about the African Union Counter Terrorism framework and the crucial role of the ACSRT in helping the AU Member States to build their CT capacity building. He highlighted the ACSRT recent activities, current projects, its priorities and challenges.

The Director expressed his heartfelt gratitude for all the continues support the ACSRT receives from German Federal Police and stressed the necessity to invigorate the existing cooperation.

The two parties discussed the issues of cooperation and response generation to the threats of terrorism and violent extremism in Africa.

The group then proceeded to tour the Centre’s premises including a short presentation in the Centre’s situation room and the library.
