The Defence Attaché of Spain to Algeria paid a courtesy call on the ACSRT

On Monday, 25 March 2019, Colonel Carloz DIEZ DE DIEGO, the Defence Attaché of the Kingdom of Spain to the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria paid a courtesy call on AU Special Representative for Counter Terrorism Cooperation/Director ACSRT, H.E Larry GBEVLO-LARTEY Esq. at ACSR head office in Algiers, Algeria.

Also present at the meeting were ACSRT heads of units: Col Christian Emmanuel Mouya-Pouyi, Head of the Training and Capacity Building, Mauna Ntwaetsile, Head of the Research and Analysis unit, Paul Adjewoda, Head of Database as well as other member of ASRT professional staff.

The Director briefed the Colonel on the role of the ACSRT and had deliberations on the terrorism situation in Africa. Matters of CT cooperation and capacity building were also discussed during the meeting.

In addition, the Director expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Kingdom of Spain, for the continuous support to the ACSRT for the running of its programs and its keen interest in the Centre’s activities. He reiterated the need to build on the existing relations. The group then proceeded to tour the Centre’s premises, this included a short presentation in the Centre’s situation room and library.

Both parties recognised the importance of the Spain-AU partnership and the need to ensure that matters of PCVE continue to receive priority consideration.
