Director General of Uganda External Security Organization Pays Visit to the ACSRT

Tuesday July 25th, 2017: The AU Special Representative for Counter-Terrorism Cooperation and Director of the African Center for the Study and Research on Terrorism (ACSRT), Larry Gbevlo-Lartey Esq. received a delegation from the Uganda External Security Organization led by His Excellency Ambassador Joseph Ocwet, the Director General of the organization, at the ACSRT Offices.

The two dignitaries discussed the implications of the scourge of terrorism on the stability, Human Security and economic well-being of the member states. They stressed on the need for the AU Member States to support the ACSRT to accomplish its mission as Africa’s Center of Excellence for research, study and capacity building in the prevention and combating of Terrorism and Violent Extremism.

H.E Ambassador Ocwet commented on the significance of the role of the ACSRT in assisting Member States of the African Union to build their Counter-Terrorism and Counter Violent Extremism capacities. He stressed the need for enhanced cooperation between the ACSRT and the External Security Organization.
